In 1972, the Cape Cod Cubs became the first pro hockey team from the Cape, playing in the Cape Cod Coliseum in West Yarmouth. They donned the same colors as Boston's top team and spent three years playing in the EHL and then the NAHL until they rebranded as the Cape Codders.
